Today’s Feast
Apr.2, 2014 – Isaiah 35
The Ransomed Shall Return
Share the Feast in God’s Word;
join us as we share God’s Word daily as Easter, Sunday April 20th approaches!
Isaiah Chapter 35, “The
flourishing state of Christ's kingdom. (1-4) The
privileges of his people. (5-10)” - Matthew Henry Concise
Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading
Isaiah Chapter 34. Those people who are ransomed by God shall (see
Psalm
92:14) have plenty
and flourish. The prophet is speaking about
the (see Isaiah
43:19) return of Jesus as the Messiah. “10
And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting
joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow
and sighing shall flee away.” Isaiah
35:10 English Standard Versions (ESV). Those that said they followed, Jesus as the
Messiah before the crucifixion didn’t understand that Jesus had to be the
sacrifice for all the sin of mankid. “And as Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he
took the twelve disciples aside, and on the way he said to them, “See, we are
going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief
priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over
to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified, and he will be raised
on the third day.”” Matthew 20: 17-19 ESV. On the third day Jesus arose from the tomb (see Revelation
21:4) conquering death and sin. Don’t let the worries of this day depress
you saints we have already been (see Isaiah
35:10) Ransomed by Jesus!
