"19 Behold,
I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19
Isaiah Chapter 48 , “The Jews
reproved for their idolatry. (1-8) Yet
deliverance is promised them. (9-15) Solemn
warnings of judgment upon those who persisted in evil. (16-22)
” - Matthew Henry Concise
Dear
Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading Isaiah Chapter 48. This prophecy begins with God criticizing
the (see Exodus 32:9) Israelites for their obstinate
behavior. God delivered from slavery (see Zephaniah
2:15) yet they continued to do wrong; “22 “There is no peace,” says the Lord, “for the wicked.”” Isaiah 48:22 English
Standard Versions (ESV). It seems that wicked people (see Colossians 3:16-17) are constantly trying
to (see 2
Thessalonians 2:9-11) pervert the Word of God. Rest
assured they will reap (see Romans
6:23) their just reward just as the believer
will receive theirs. We are should
learn to be content (see Philippians
4:11) with
God’s gifts. We “Christians” need to
stop complaining about government and taxes; “For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities
are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. Pay to all what is owed
to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect
to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.” Romans 13:6-7 ESV. Jesus gives us life everlasting (see Matthew
25:45-46) when we accept him as our personal savior. In
turning to Jesus we give up only what would hurt us. In accepting Jesus we gain
that measure of hope (see Ephesians 1:18) the riches of his glorious
inheritance in the saints. We gather
that gold refined by the fire (see Revelation 3:17) as
we lead others to Jesus!

“[The Resurrection of Christ] Now I would remind you, brothers,
of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, For
I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ
died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that
he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,” Romans 3:23-24 ESV.
