Apr. 7, 2014 – Isaiah 40
Comfort for God's People
Gods Not Dead! Share
the Feast in God’s Word; join us sharing God’s Word daily as Easter, Sunday
April 20th approaches!
"13 so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness
before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his
saints.” 1 Thessalonians
3:13
Isaiah Chapter 40 , “The preaching of the gospel, and glad tidings of the
coming of Christ. (1-11) The
almighty power of God. (12-17) The
folly of idolatry. (18-26) Against
unbelief. (27-31)” - Matthew Henry Concise
Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading Isaiah Chapter 40. Here we start
with prophesy of (see Luke
3:5) the Messiah to Come. God’s awesome (see Proverbs
30:4) power. The
comfort and power of those who wait on the Lord; “30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall
exhausted; 31 but they
who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with
wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:30-31 English Standard Versions (ESV). In the name of Jesus we are able (see Philippians
4:13) to do all things! “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live,
but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by
faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 ESV. The
Feast is designed for us to spend about 15 minutes a day reading every word
in (see Romans
10:17) God’s Word about every three years. Our faith (see Hebrews
11:1-2) brings us comfort in the name of Jesus.
