Today’s Feast
Feb. 9, 2014 – Ecclesiastes 7
The Contrast of Wisdom and Folly
“5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my
enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” Psalm 23:5
Ecclesiastes Chapter 7, “The benefit of a good
name; of death above life; of sorrow above vain mirth. (1-6) Concerning
oppression, anger, and discontent. (7-10) Advantages of wisdom. (11-22)
Experience of the evil of sin. (23-29)” -
Matthew Henry Concise
Dear Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Ecclesiastes Chapter 7. In God’s Word we see the differences
between wisdom and folly. “29 See, this
alone I found, that God made man upright, but they have sought out many
schemes.“ Ecclesiastes
7:29 English Standard Version (ESV). While we may be angry
about what is going on around us we must not fall into sin. So we must turn what angers us over to Jesus
(See Ephesians 4:26) every
day before we sleep. By the same token
we should not worry about our lives but rather seek God with thanksgiving and
prayer in the name of Jesus in every circumstance. “31 Therefore do not be anxious,
saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we
wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly
Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and
his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.“ Matthew 6:31-33 ESV.
Seek wisdom in God’s Word there you will find wisdom (See Romans
10:17) that will reinforce your faith.
