Today’s Feast
Feb. 4, 2014 – Ecclesiastes
2
Living For God Or In Vain?
“14
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to
gratify its desires.” Romans
13:14
Ecclesiastes Chapter 2, “The vanity and vexation
of mirth, sensual pleasure, riches, and pomp. (1-11) Human wisdom
insufficient. (12-17) This world to be used according to the will of God.
(18-26)” -
Matthew Henry Concise
Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our
Feast reading Ecclesiastes Chapter 2. How are we living our
life? There are two choices; Living
for God or our fleshly desires. Caring
for one’s self or all of God’s creation.
“26 For to the one who pleases him God has given
wisdom and knowledge and joy, but to the sinner he has given the business of
gathering and collecting, only to give to one who pleases God. This also is vanity and a striving after
wind.“ Ecclesiastes
2:26 English Standard Version (ESV) Jesus put it
best when he said we couldn’t serve two masters (See Matthew
6:24) you really can serve only one; the flesh
or Jesus. Even the rich man, rock star
or king, poor man, beggar or thief must make the choice. King David did; "2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress
and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the
horn of my salvation, my stronghold. “ - Psalm 18:2 ESV.
Today is a good day to make that decision while you are still able (see
Deuteronomy 30:19). If you are inclined to serve
Jesus do not waste another moment living in vain. Don’t wait to change anything; Jesus will help
you make any changes you need to make.
