Does God’s Wisdom Teach Us?
“16 For
all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the
eyes and pride of life is not from the Father but is from the world.” 1
John 2:16
Ecclesiastes an overview, “The name of this book
signifies "The Preacher." The wisdom of God here preaches to us,
speaking by Solomon, who it is evident was the author. At the close of his
life, being made sensible of his sin and folly, he recorded here his
experience for the benefit of others, as the book of his repentance; and he
pronounced all earthly good to be "vanity and vexation of spirit."
It convinces us of the vanity of the world, and that it cannot make us happy;
of the vileness of sin, and its certain tendency to make us miserable. It
shows that no created good can satisfy the soul, and that happiness is to be
found in God alone; and this doctrine must, under the blessed Spirit's
teaching, lead the heart to Christ Jesus.” - Matthew Henry Concise
Ecclesiastes Chapter 1, “Solomon shows that all
human things are vain. (1-3) Man's toil and want of satisfaction. (4-8) There
is nothing new. (9-11) The vexation in pursuit of knowledge. (12-18)” - Matthew Henry Concise
Dear Saints,
Today’s
Feast is speaks to the value of worldly wisdom. “18 For in much wisdom is much vexation, and he who
increases knowledge increases sorrow. “ Ecclesiastes
1:18 English Standard Version (ESV) Our Supreme Court
as well as any person seeking understanding the will of God or what is good
and right should take a lesson here. You can make laws or be as politically correct
as you want; If God says it’s sin it is sin (see Ecclesiastes
7:13). Don’t be fooled by what the world say’s is
proper and right. The only thing that may
be new and good (See Ecclesiastes
3:15) is a repentant sinner gaining salvation
through God’s Son Jesus. "But I will sing of your strength; I
will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to
me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.“ - Psalm
59:16 ESV.
Even the angels in heaven rejoice (see Luke
15:10) whenever a soul turns to Jesus for freedom and that more excellent
life.
Is Jesus calling you? Do
you want freedom? Do you want to find
true happiness, peace and purpose in your life? If the answer is yes to any of these
questions please click the following link; http://www.admenu.com/calling.htm
