What Is
Of More Value?
July
11, 2013 – Job 20
Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully
continue our Feast reading Job 20. Zophar says
that the joy of the wicked is fleeting and lasts but a short time. The love
of the world and its riches are wicked. The unrepentant person will see their treasure
slip away from them;
“28 The possessions of his house will be
carried away,
dragged
off in the day of God's wrath.
29 This is the wicked man's portion from God,
the
heritage decreed for him by God.”” Job 20:28-29 English
Standard Version (ESV).
Where is the value
of goods earned from self-interest and treachery? Of what value to are the gifts of the Holy
Spirit? That which is gained and
treasured from the world will be of no value in the kingdom of God. “7 Do not be deceived: God is not
mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. 8 For the one who sows
to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to
the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 And let us not grow
weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:7-9 ESV. Those that seek worldly treasure and self-importance
will learn that it has no value in the kingdom of God. Jesus will return for
those who seek the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and in that day they will be justified!
Only Jesus knows where you’re at. Jesus is calling! Do you hear
that small voice calling; sinner com home?
