Today’s Feast
Aug. 2, 2014-Ezekiel 19
A Funeral Song for Israel’s Leaders
Please join with us sharing
  God’s Word daily.  We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and
  reading every word in God’s Word in approximately three years.  Gods Not Dead!
“8 If we live, we live to the Lord;
  and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to
  the Lord”
  Romans 14:8

Dear
  Saints,
Today
  we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of Ezekiel Chapter 19;
  “A parable lamenting the ruin of Jehoahaz and Jehoiakim. (1-9) Another
  describing the desolation of the people. (10-14)“
  - Matthew
  Henry Concise.
Ezekiel, is singing a funeral song for two of Israel’s
  leaders; (see Ezekiel
  19:1-9) as the mother waited one died then the
  other.   Jerusalem was flourishing
  and fruitful (see Ezekiel
  19:10-14) and she was plucked up and burned because her wickedness.  This
  Lamentation (funeral song) is sung with great sorrow; “13 Now it is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and
  thirsty land. 14 And fire has gone out from the stem of its shoots, has
  consumed its fruit, so that there remains in it no strong stem, no scepter
  for ruling. This is a lamentation and has become a lamentation.” Ezekiel
  19:13-14 English Standard Version (ESV).  The battle we fight to day (see
  Ephesians
  6:12) is against the same wickedness found in Jerusalem.  We must be prepared to battle this
  wickedness; “13 Therefore take up the
  whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the
  evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having
  put on the breastplate of righteousness,” Ephesians
  6:13-14 ESV. Standing in the power of Jesus
  our song will be a victory song (see 1 John 5:4)
  not a lamentation of great sorrow.
