The Feast Matthew 3

7th Year 11-12 Edition 3 Mat 3   l The Feast Daily Edition l Wed Jan 4, 2012 Matthew 3     Dear Saints,   Thank you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast in the New Testament Matthew 3. In this Scripture is where we see John preparing the people for the appearance of the Messiah; “ 1 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, 2 “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” 3 For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he said, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; make his paths straight.’” ” - Matthew 3:1- 3 - English Standard Version (ESV).   John is announcing our Messiah just as Jesus continues to fulfill prophesy before he begins his ministry. ; “11 ‘I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.’” Matthew 3:11-12 - ESV. Now we see Jesus fulfilling all prophesy that points to our preparing the Way for Jesus to return for the harvest. The man, Lamb of God our Savior.   Thus God clearly let’s us know who Jesus is; “16 And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; 17and behold, a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.’” Matthew 3:16-17 (ESV). We will keep the first thing first. That’s salvation the gift of God, God’s Riches At Christs Expense (GRACE). Freely given by God and received from Jesus. Shared by strength in the Holy Ghost. So now we can go forward, walking humbly, pronouncing Jesus the Christ to a hungry world. . “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8 ESV.
