Today’s Feast
Jan. 26,
2016 – Acts 18
Reason With
Them!
Please join with us sharing God’s Word
daily. We will spend about fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every
word in God’s Word in approximately three years.
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.” James 4:10, English Standard Version (ESV)
Dear
Saints,
Thank you for
joining us, as we prayerfully continue our Feast in Acts Chapter 18; “Paul at Corinth, with Aquila and Priscilla. (1-6) He
continues to preach at Corinth. (7-11) Paul
before Gallio. (12-17) He
visits Jerusalem. (18-23) Apollos
teaches at Ephesus and in Achaia. (24-28)”
- Matthew Henry
Concise.
Paul
is staying in Corinth, with fellow tent makers Aquila and Priscilla. Paul
trusts God and continues to preach at Corinth. Paul went before Gallio, who
was indifferent to the gospel, didn’t consider Paul’s actions to be serious
enough for punishment. He returns to Antioch, continuing to build the
believers faith. Apollos teaches at Ephesus and in Achaia. “24
Now a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an
eloquent man, competent in the Scriptures. 25 He had been instructed in the
way of the Lord. And being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately
the things concerning Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John. 26 He
began to speak boldly in the synagogue, but when Priscilla and Aquila heard
him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.
27 And when he wished to cross to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and
wrote to the disciples to welcome him. When he arrived, he greatly helped
those who through grace had believed, 28 for he powerfully refuted the Jews
in public, showing by the Scriptures that the Christ was Jesus.”
Acts
18:24-28, ESV. Priscilla and Aquila heard Apollos he was telling people to
believe in Jesus. He
only knew the baptism of John, rather than disagreeing with him they took him
aside and and taught him. The lesson here is rather than causing a roe
because you don’t agree with a saint, reason with them in private.
Encouraging the saint in the love of Jesus. “and assembling all the chief
priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ was
to be born. They told him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by
the prophet: “‘And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means
least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who will
shepherd my people Israel.’”” Matthew
2:4-6, ESV. Jesus is the
Savior of all persons. Encourage people in his love! Keep the first thing
first, that is salvation paid for, in full by our Lord Jesus Christ. If the Lord is
willing I’ll send and post the Feast again tomorrow
You’ll find the
praise and prayer list at; admenu.com/prayer.html. Prayer request or Praise reports can be
sent to brother Mike at; mike@admenu.com
Don’t get
caught up in “religion”, it is about a relationship. Our salvation depends
completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus sacrificed his life to pay in
full for our sin, when we repent and accept Jesus. He will come to get every
Saint; “36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels
of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.” Matthew 24:36, ESV. We are
building our relationship with Jesus right now, do not wait while you try to
change anything. Click this link for

God Bless You,
Brother
