Today’s
Feast
Feb
28,
2015 – Matthew 16
Without
Complaining?
Please
join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about
fifteen minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s
Word in approximately three years.
“38 And
he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy
of Me.“
Matthew
10:38
New
King James Version (NKJV).
Dear
Saints,
Thank
you for joining us, as we prayerfully continue the Feast in
Matthew
Chapter
16;
“The
Pharisees and Sadducees ask a sign. (1-4)
Jesus cautions against the doctrine of the Pharisees. (5-12)
Peter's testimony that Jesus was the Christ. (13-20)
Christ foretells his sufferings, and rebukes Peter. (21-23)
The necessity of self-denial. (24-28)“
-
Matthew
Henry Concise.
Today
as we continue the Feast in
Matthew 16,
we
see Jesus telling the disciples that it is more profitable to
gain a relationship with him than success of and in the world;
“24
Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come
after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow
Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but
whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what
profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his
own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his
soul?” Matthew 16:24-26
– NKJV.
I received
a pamphlet advertising to to cure all the ails of senior life.
They had health and diet tips also how to succeed financially.
How to get along with your spouse now that you are retired. The
thing that seniors, (the same as all people) need the most is
salvation
was not even hinted at. Well I it’s true (Matthew
4:4)
that
man needs more than bread to live; “5
Now when His disciples had come to the other side, they had
forgotten to take bread. 6 Then Jesus said to them, "Take
heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the
Sadducees." 7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying,
"It is because we have taken no bread." 8 But Jesus,
being aware of it, said to them, "O you of little faith, why
do you reason among yourselves because you have brought no bread?
9 Do you not yet understand, or remember the five loaves of the
five thousand and how many baskets you took up?”
Matthew
16:5-9
NKJV.
I say it again, it is not about “tradition” or “religion”,
it is about a relationship with Jesus. Our salvation depends
completely on God! We are the Saints that Jesus sacrificed his
life to pay in full for our sin, all
we need
to do is; (John
3:16)
repent
and accept Jesus.
That
we can do without complaining! “14
Do all things without complaining and disputing, 15 that you may
become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in
the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you
shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life,
so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in
vain or labored in vain.”Philippians
2:14-16 NKJV.
We
are building our relationship with Jesus right now, do not wait
