What is good? – 2 Kings 9

Kings 9
Dear Saints,
Today we are prayerfully reading, 2 Kings 9. God directs Elisha
to anoint Jehu as king according to God’s will. To the captains the messengers
who come to Jehu appears as a mad man. The evil kings Joram and Ahaziah are
slain by Jehu. Jezebel is eaten by dogs. “35 But when they went to bury her, they
found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her
hands. 36 When they came back and told him, he said, “This is the word of
the Lord, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite: ‘In the
territory of Jezreel the dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel, 37 and the
corpse of Jezebel shall be as dung on the face of the field in the
territory of Jezreel, so that no one can say, This is Jezebel.’“ 2nd Kings 9:35-37
English - Standard Version (ESV). Make
no mistake sin will always be dealt with as sin by God. Sin is a cancer that will not enter the kingdom
God has prepared for us. Let’s not dwell on the negative for this
is not God’s will for us. “Finally, brothers,
whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is
pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any
excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these
things.” Philippians
4:8 ESV. We are the light to the world; our purpose
is to carry God’s word as ambassadors from Jesus. Let your light shine and keep the first
thing first. This is salvation through the blood of our Lord Jesus. We are the children of the king. Let people know what good really is.

Revive Us Again
SCRIPTURE: 1 PETER 3:22; 4:1-11.
”We
were slaves; yet even as slaves, our God didn’t abandon us. He has put us
in the good graces of the kings of Persia and given us the heart to build
The Temple of our God, restore its ruins, and construct a defensive wall
in Judah and Jerusalem.
10 "And now, our God, after all this
what can we say for ourselves? For we have thrown your commands to the
wind,
17 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord
Jehovah: I will even gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of
the countries where ye are scattered, and I will give you the land of
Israel.
18 And they shall come thither, and they
shall take away from thence all its detestable things and all its
abominations.
19 And I will give them one heart, and I
will put a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart
out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh;
20 that they may walk in my statutes, and
keep mine ordinances, and do them; and they shall be my people, and I
will be their God.”
21 But as for them whose heart walketh
well-pleased with their detestable things and their abominations, I will
recompense their way upon their heads, saith the Lord Jehovah.
Isa
57:15 “For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose
name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has
a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to
revive the heart of the contrite ones.”
DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: This scripture speaks loud and clear about what God wants
for our nation. He wants His people to be of one heart and to keep his
ordinances and be doers of the word and not hearers only. In order to
accomplish this we must have:
·
Contrite and humble
spirit.
·
He will revive us.
·
Walk in His Will
PRAYER THOUGHT:
Dear God, Work we pray in our hearts as pray for revival. We are crying.

caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a
spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.” Galatians 6:1 ESV
