Today’s Feast
Feb. 6, 2014 – Ecclesiastes 4
What Is It We Pursue?
“21 Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life,
righteousness, and honor.” Proverbs 21:21
Ecclesiastes Chapter 4, “Miseries from
oppression. (1-3) troubles from envy. (4-6) The folly of covetousness. (7,8)
The advantages of mutual assistance. (9-12) the changes of royalty. (13-16)” - Matthew Henry Concise
Dear Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast reading Ecclesiastes Chapter
4. Evil men are going to hate and despise life. No good comes from a man's envy of his neighbor. A
selfish man cares for nobody but himself. A wise man will work hard blessing those he loves. “15 I saw all the living who move about under the
sun, along with that youth who was to stand in the king's place. 16 There was
no end of all the people, all of whom he led. Yet those who come later will
not rejoice in him. Surely this also is vanity and a striving after wind.“ Ecclesiastes
4:15-16 English Standard Version (ESV). If we strive to imitate Jesus we will love
our neighbors pray for those who persecute the church (See Matthew
5:43-44). "For the word of the Lord is upright,
and all his work is done in faithfulness. He loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.“ - Psalm 33:4-5 ESV. We are born again pursuing the
love of God. We will love our neighbor. In doing so we are fulfilling God’s
law (see Romans 13:10). Continue to pursue the love of God and share
salvation in Jesus name.
