Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully Feast in the book of 2
Samuel 11. David looks out on his kingdom with worldly eyes,
this leads to the sin of adultery. He tries to conceal his sin
even trying to make a fool of Uriah to cover his crime. When
that fails David has Uriah murdered. “26
When the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she
lamented over her husband. 27 And when the mourning was over,
David sent and brought her to his house, and she became his wife
and bore him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased
the Lord.”
2 Samuel 11:26-27, English Standard Version (ESV). David's sin
pulled him away from God. As we saw in this chapter a glimpse of
the problems living in sin can cause. I call sin a spiritual
cancer and there is no hope without Jesus.
We
thank God for the gift of salvation, we should resist this cancer
called sin, drawing on our faith in God for the strength to avoid
sin. This is why we should keep the first thing first ,that is
salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. “And
so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you,
asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in
all spiritual wisdom and understanding,”
Colossians 1:9 ESV. Keep praying for each other, salvation for
every man and that God's will is done on Earth.

“[Do
Not Love the World] Do not love the world or the things in the
world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in
him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and
the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father
but is from the world.”
1 John 2:15-16 ESV.
