Today’s Feast
Sep. 7, 2014-1st Peter 3
Suffering for Doing Right
Please
join with us sharing God’s Word daily. We will spend about fifteen
minutes a day praying and reading every word in God’s Word in approximately
three years. Gods
Not Dead!
“16 that according to the riches of his
glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in
your inner being,” Ephesians
3:16
Dear
Saints,
Today
we prayerfully continue our Feast by reading the book of 1 Peter Chapter 3; “The
duties of wives and husbands. (1-7) Christians
exhorted to agree. (8-13) And
encouraged to patience under persecutions for righteousness' sake,
considering that Christ suffered patiently. (14-22)“ - Matthew Henry Concise.
Wives
you will win him (your husband) over
by what you do; (see 1 Peter 3:1-7)
Husband be thoughtful of your wife treat her
with honor. Don’t be hateful and insult people who are hateful
to you (see 1 Peter 3:8-13) do all the good you can, nobody can harm you for doing
good deeds. Don’t be afraid to do good
things (see 1 Peter 3:14-22) for therein God will bless you; “21
Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt
from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right
hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to
him. ” 1 Peter 2:24-25 English Standard Version (ESV). We know if you believe and are baptized you’ll
be saved (see Mark
16:16) while those who don’t
believe will die in their sins.
In all things concerning Jesus; “28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone
and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in
Christ.” Colossians 1:28 ESV. Because Jesus loves us we will overcome all difficulties;
(see Romans
8:36-37) through the power of
His might we are conquerors. Therefore
if we suffer for doing right (see 1
peter 3:17) we are better off
than if we are suffer for doing evil.
