When Was I A Slave?
August 6, 2013 – Galatians 4
Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully continue our Feast
reading Galatians 4.
The folly of turning to the law for justification
is the “Law” merely points out sin. There is forgiveness from sin Jesus. Paul
has earnest concern for the Galatians. So he explains the difference between what
is to be expected from the law, and from the gospel. “28 Now you, brothers, like
Isaac, are children of promise. 29 But just as at that time he who was born
according to the flesh persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit,
so also it is now. 30 But what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the slave
woman and her son, for the son of the slave woman shall not inherit with the
son of the free woman.” 31 So, brothers, we are not children of the slave but
of the free woman.” Galatians 4:28-31
English Standard Version (ESV). Saint’s you have accepted Jesus so you are no
longer a slave. You may protest and say; “When was I in slavery?” We were all natural men born into slavery
unto sin. But you who asked Jesus into
your heart and turned from sin are born of spirit and free from sin in Jesus.
“The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous
rules endures forever.”
Psalm 119:160 ESV. There is no other
name whereby we are saved from sin;
Jesus saves us free from slavery to sin.
Jesus
is calling!” He won’t call forever, now is the time to answer his call. Do
