Dear Saints,
Today we prayerfully read, Acts 15. Concerning God’s instruction to the Jews, the Pharisees, raise the questions of the laws. The apostles and the elders hold council at Jerusalem. The letter from the council, states because they are saved by faith the gentiles would do well to abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and that which was strangled, and from sexual immorality. In dispute, Paul and Barnabas separate. “36 And after some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us return and visit the brothers in every city where we proclaimed the word of the Lord, and see how they are.” 37 Now Barnabas wanted to take with them John called Mark. 38 But Paul thought best not to take with them one who had withdrawn from them in Pamphylia and had not gone with them to the work. 39 And there arose a sharp disagreement, so that they separated from each other. Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed away to Cyprus, 40 but Paul chose Silas and departed, having been commended by the brothers to the grace of the Lord. 41 And he went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.” Acts 15:36-41, English Standard Version (ESV). Paul and Barnabas were quick to return to service for God, in spite of the dispute. Paul continues to speak with care and affection for both Barnabas and Mark, in his epistles, written after the incident. If we profess our love for our God and Savior, that love, soon forgets and buries disagreements among believers. “[A New Prophet like Moses] “The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen—” Deuteronomy 18:15 ESV. We serve God not man, be alert for God’s instruction. Hold all things up to the light that is God’s Word. Continue to keep the first thing first, that is salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Be sure that what you and those you associate with, do in Jesus name truly glorifies God!

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.” John 15:5,8 ESV.
